Social capital through new academic relationship

Our November 27 event raised awareness among students, faculty and administrative staff of the Universidad Politécnica de Tulancingo (UPT) on the elimination of violence against women through the UPT forum “Indigenous Women’s Leadership”.

PSYDEH also used the event to promote our work to students with the hope that, in 2020, we will solidify our formal relationship with UPT. Not only can students do their professional internships in our Tulancingo office, but UPT graduates can collaborate with us as members of our young professional corps.

The forum began with the screening of PSYDEH’s 2019 short film “Woman citizen“. It closed with the panel “Leadership of Indigenous Women”, where PSYDEH colleagues, Mexican Guadalupe Yarazet Moreno Borjas and US citizen Jessica Carrie Gingles gave their opinions on the subject. We hope to leverage this experience into a win-win for PSYDEH and UPT and its network in 2020.
