On September 5, International Indigenous Women’s Day, PSYDEH staff and Otomí and Nahua leaders of the indigenous women-led umbrella network (Network) of NGOs from Tenango de Doria and Acaxochitlán continued our tradition of pursuing cross-culture and region collaboration.

Here, we traveled to the community of Pachitla, municipality of Zontecomatlan in Sierra Norte of the State of Veracruz, to share on our work and the importance of protecting indigenous languages.

This trip continues PSYDEH’s 2017 collaboration with the Mexican NGO Comunidades Indigenas en Movimiento Social (CIMS) started in March when Veracruz women leaders attended the 3rd Regional Forum. In July, PSYDEH staff delivered a workshop to women leaders in Pachitla on Human Rights from a gender perspective. Now, CIMS staff work with PSYDEH on our ongoing INMUJERES project.
